Content is EVERYTHING.

We have an important topic to discuss today! It regards making sure you have the proper content for your wedding video, especially if you want a mini movie package. We've seen it time and time again over the years, but more recently with our more recent weddings. When the bride and groom to-be come in for their details appointment, we discuss a timeline of how they intend for their wedding day to play out, which includes details such as whether or not they are doing a first look, gift exchange, card reading, cake cutting and so on.

This is important because it allows us to think ahead of how the day will be run, and most importantly, give us an idea of the content we will have in order to be creative and make the most out of your wedding video. This applies to any package, whether it's a recap, same day edit, or mini movie. But we especially stress this recommendation if you are one to choose a mini movie package. If you've watched our mini movie videos, you are aware that they are a longer, multi-song video. This means that we need as much content as possible to work with in order to make the video enticing, and everything you imagined when booking with Mike Picard Motion Pictures. A primary example includes considering doing a first look and card reading & gift exchange. Some of our best mini movie videos include a first look and card reading/gift exchange, because they are two of the most longer, intimate moments that allow us to get creative with the video, and make it less redundant. Not to mention, these two parts of the day are personal moments that you will want to look back on in your video and share with the family & friends who weren't there to see it.

The more footage we have to work with, the better your video will turn out. It is tough in post production when we get to the editing process and struggle to make the most out of a video that doesn't have enough content. It makes our job harder because we want to give our brides and grooms a video that we are proud of, but is difficult to achieve when we have a wedding without many of the events previously mentioned. We understand that first looks aren't for every bride and groom. If that isn't an option, we encourage you to include a card reading (both bride and groom), a few toasts, cake cutting, parent dances, or some other meaningful moment that we can capture for you. After all, this is in the best interest of our customers. We just want to create the best for you, and give you your money's worth. So if you're considering a recap or mini movie, we urge you to think of the included content that will make it an extraordinary one, not a sub-par redundant video.
