Progress & Editing Process

With a new year beginning, we have a BUSY 2019 wedding season ahead of us. In the meantime, we are keeping busy in the office with our editing process to complete our September and October wedding videos. Currently, we are in the editing stage of 9/22/18 mini movie at Atlantic Resort, with 9/29/18 on deck. Then begin our October wedding edits! For the month of September we had a total of 15 weddings; 8 of them are mini movies, while 7 are recap videos. These videos take time and attention to detail, because we aim to have smiling brides and grooms when they view their final video. We don't want to rush the process, as we spend approximately 42 hours editing and finalizing a single wedding video. We want to break it down to give you some insight to our post production process.

We have three editors that work on different aspects of the video, Mike, Jenna, and Jocelyn. When we begin the editing process, Jenna starts by editing the doc, which is the start to finish raw footage from the wedding day, and then goes onto the color grading process. This stage takes approximately 15-20 hours on a single video. This is followed by Mike proofing the doc, taking up to four hours. Once the proofing is complete, Jocelyn takes over the editing process. A typical recap video will take her up to ten hours to complete, whereas a mini movie can take anywhere from 10-20 hours. The next step is more proofing and compressing, taking about another four hours. The file then goes back to Mike for final proofing to make sure everything is best as can be; color grading, music selection, editing, graphics, and shot quality. The final stage is where Jenna burns the final video and does the printing and packaging, adding another approximate three hours to the process. Once these are completed to our best ability, we can then give our brides and grooms their finished package, and then repeat these steps with the next one. It's a busy editing process!

Thank you to our 2018 brides and grooms for giving us another successful wedding year. We look forward to the busy year ahead of us.
